Classification by chemical composition and characteristics
1. Polyene hot melt adhesive
1) PE hot melt adhesive: Good bonding performance, low price, easy to bond porous surface, etc.
2) PP hot melt adhesive: Certain adhesion, slow curing speed, low heat resistance, often mixed with low molecular weight polyethylene or crystalline polypropylene to improve curing speed and temperature resistance.
2. Ethylene and its copolymer hot melt adhesive
1) Copolymer monomers: propylene, vinyl acetate, acrylic acid (ester), maleic anhydride, vinyl chloride, etc.
2) EVA hot melt adhesive: Excellent adhesion, softness, heating fluidity and cold resistance; Excellent drug resistance, thermal stability, weather resistance and electrical performance; Low strength, heat resistance, not resistant to fat oil, etc.
3. Polyester hot melt adhesive
Excellent electrical insulation; Good bonding strength; Good impact resistance, water resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance, medium resistance and elasticity; Can be glued to a variety of materials; High melt viscosity.
4. Polyamide hot melt adhesive
Excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, electrical properties, oil resistance, chemical resistance and medium resistance; Tasteless and colorless; Rapid curing; Can be bonded to a variety of metals and non-metals; Good compatibility with other resins.
(1) High molecular weight polyamide hot melt adhesive: Good fluidity, high bonding strength, resistant to dry cleaning and washing;
(2) Low molecular weight polyamide hot melt adhesive: Good strength and toughness, most of the performance is better than EVA hot melt adhesive.
5. Polyurethane hot melt adhesive
(1) Thermoplastic polyurethane hot melt adhesive: Better strength than polyester and polyolefin hot melt adhesive, good elasticity, excellent mechanical properties, simple operation, suitable for high-speed automatic bonding production, no pollution, often used to bond fabrics, metals, glass, etc.
(2) Reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive: It integrates the advantages of hot melt adhesive, reactive adhesive and polyurethane adhesive, with no pollution and high efficiency.
6. Styrene and its block copolymer hot melt adhesive
1) Fluidity and plasticity at high temperature;
2) Displays flexibility and resilience at room temperature;
SBS: Good solubility, good compatibility, adding resin and viscosity can reduce its melt viscosity, is very suitable for the preparation of hot melt adhesive, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive;
SIS: It has both soluble plastic, thermal plasticity and toughness and elasticity of vulcanized rubber, low modulus, low solution viscosity and melting viscosity, good processing performance, good cohesion and good adhesion performance, and it is the main material for making hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive.
